At the moment, a lot of things are happening in the American rap scene. Every day, as a rapper, you could be kidnapped, violated and threatened, because that has become “normal.” Sometimes it is so hard, that a singer is killed.
A few months ago, the only 20-year-old US-rapper Xxxtentacion was shot in Deerfield Beach, Florida, but that was not all the violence you can read about. It seems like the rapper 6ix9ine also known as Tekashi gets into big trouble. On Sunday, 22nd July, this guy, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was kidnapped and later he was in a hospital. The 22-year-old man was on his way home, when three hooded men blocked his driveway. One of them demanded money and jewelry or threatened to kill 6ix9ine. Following that, all of them drove to the rapper’s home and the three criminals robbed 6ix9ine’s jewelry with a value of 750.000 dollars and between 15.000 to 20.000 dollars in cash. Furthermore, they drove away with Hernandez in the vehicle, but he was able to open the door and jump out of the car. One of the robbers started to chase him, but he stopped, because he was to be recognized. Hernandez got into a stranger’s car and asked him for help. The stranger luckily called 911. However, after the incident 6ix9ine told the police a different story. In his new version he said that the two gunmen stole his driver’s iPhone and dragged him into their car. Afterwards they went to 6ix9ine’s house and he handed his jewelry over to the men. He managed to escape and checked himself into hospital.
So, was it all fake? Many of his fans think that this whole incident was all just staged and he has never been kidnapped. Did he just want the attention like Xxxtentacion received after his death? What do you think, is the story real or just made up?
